Soundtrack Reviews

FilmMusicReviews_square_picJust uploaded is a quartet of soundtrack reviews – some new, a few that couldn’t fit into earlier issues of Rue Morgue magazine.

Frederik Wiedmann’s represented by two scores from very disparate genres – the horror film The Damned (Lakeshore Records) and the Civil War drama Field of Lost Shoes (La-La Land Records). Victor Reyes wrote a great score for the giallo Grand Piano (MovieScore Media / Kronos Records), and Paul Haslinger wrote an effective orchestral-electronic fusion score for No Good Deed (Madison Gate Records).

Coming mid-week is a podcast interview with composer Ceiri Torjussen (finally finished filming some rather trippy visuals to accompany his eighties-set dance drama Test), plus reviews of a trio of CanCon films, and Fritz Lang’s mean-but-fun WWII thriller Man Hunt (1941) from Twilight Time.
