April 5<sup>th<\/sup> had Goblin member Maurizio Guarini performing his original score to Italy\u2019s first feature film, Dante\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/kqek.com\/mobile\/?p=15798\"><strong>Inferno<\/strong> \/ <strong>L\u2019Inferno<\/strong><\/a> (1911), based on Dante\u2019s famous narrative poem in which the author\u2019s same-named hero and the poet Virgil trek through Hell, Purgatory, and Heaven.<\/p>\n<p>The screening was part of the\u00a0International Seminar on Critical Approaches to Dante, as coordinated primarily between the University of Toronto and the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.iictoronto.esteri.it\/iic_toronto\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Italian Institute of Culture<\/a>. <strong>Inferno<\/strong> was restored around 2007, and the 70 min. version featured tinted scenes and all surviving footage culled from various international sources.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve added <a href=\"http:\/\/kqek.com\/mobile\/?p=15798\">a review of the classic silent film<\/a> which, in its latest restored incarnation, is only available via a Region 2 Italian PAL DVD.
