Los attaques muertes schmerziolas !\" width=\"296\" height=\"266\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ll have another set of soundtrack reviews out shortly, but available shortly on CD and MP3 are the following soundtracks from the usual mail order shops:<\/p>\n<p>Bill Conti\u2019s <strong>That Championship Season<\/strong> (La-La Land Records).<\/p>\n<p>Bill Conti\u2019s beautiful <strong>Murderers Among Us<\/strong> gets an expanded release from Buysoundtrax.com (aka BSX Records), and the label is releasing the next full soundtrack album by Alan Howarth \u2013 <strong>Morkeleg<\/strong> (<strong>Backstabbed<\/strong>). I wonder if <strong>Retribution<\/strong> (1987) will ever see the light of day again&#8230; and also from the label is Basil Poledouris\u2019 <strong>Wind<\/strong> paired with <strong>A Whale for the Killing<\/strong>, and Lee Holdridge\u2019s <strong>Winterhawk <\/strong>gets its own CD release.<\/p>\n<p>TCM\u2019s been running a salute to composer Johnny Mercer this month, so out comes the soundtrack album to the documentary <strong>Clint Eastwood presents Johnny Mercer<\/strong>, featuring \u2018songs from and inspired by\u2019 the film, marking Mercer\u2019s birth in 1909.<\/p>\n<p>MovieScore Media\u2019s released a limited CD edition of James Peterson\u2019s <strong>The Red Canvas<\/strong> for those wanting more than the standard digital album, and the label will also release <strong>The House of the Devil<\/strong> \/ <strong>I Can See You<\/strong> from the innovative Jeff Grace on CD and MP3 as well.<\/p>\n<p>Britain\u2019s Network, which releases both DVDs and CDs, has already put out a number of complete series sets for composers Edwin Astley and Laurie Johnson (to name a few), and now comes a 2-disc sampler \u2013 <strong>The Music of ITC<\/strong> &#8211; with music from <strong>The Saint<\/strong>, <strong>The Protecttors<\/strong>, and many others.<\/p>\n<p>(Now if only the owners of the ITC film library would stop licensing crappy full frame NTSC transfers to Region 1 distributors and remaster some of their prestige and cult titles. If crud like <strong>G.I. Joe<\/strong> can exist on DVD and Blu-ray, why can\u2019t we get a widescreen edition of <strong>Voyage of the Damned<\/strong> or <strong>The Cassandra Crossing<\/strong>. Oh wait, <strong>Cassandra<\/strong> <em>was<\/em> out letterboxed, but then it was replaced with a full screen version. Sometimes I wonder if monkeys are the ones pressing the green-for-go buttons in the ITC film and video archive.)<\/p>\n<p>From Sweden\u2019s fin de si\u00e8cle media comes Stefano Torossi\u2019s <strong>Omicidio per vocazione <\/strong>\/<strong> E\u2019stato bello amarti<\/strong> (limited to 500 copies).<\/p>\n<p>From Italy\u2019s DigitMovies comes a bevvy of new goodies: Bruno Nicolai\u2019s music for Peter Collinson\u2019s <strong>Ten Little Indians <\/strong>(1974), Riz Ortonlani\u2019s <strong>Una ragione per vivere e una per morire<\/strong> \/ <strong>La notte dei serpenti<\/strong>, Stelvio Cipriani\u2019s <strong>Il triangolo delle Bermuda<\/strong> \/ <strong>Bermude: la fossa maledetta<\/strong> \/ <strong>Uragano sulle Bermude l\u2019ultimo S.O.S.<\/strong> (on 2 CDs), and Roberto Nicolosi\u2019s score for Mario Bava\u2019s <strong>Black Sabbath<\/strong> (with mono and surviving stereo cues).<\/p>\n<p>Italy\u2019s Beat Records is issuing Nico Fidenco\u2019s <strong>Emanuelle Nera<\/strong> (<strong>Black Emanuelle<\/strong>) in a limited run of 1000 copies.<\/p>\n<p>Spain\u2019s Saimel Records is releasing Angelo Francesco Lavagnino\u2019s <strong>Attentato ai tre Grandi<\/strong> \/ <strong>Africa<\/strong><strong> ama<\/strong> in a limited run of 500 copies, and Mateo Pascual\u2019s music for the videogame <strong>Planet 51<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Lastly, Antonio Cora and Kent Sparlin\u2019s <strong>Seventh Moon<\/strong> comes to CD via ERM Media (distributed worldwide via Naxos)<\/p>\n<p>I just finished an interview with Christopher Gordon (<strong>On the Beach<\/strong>, <strong>Moby Dick<\/strong>, <strong>Salem\u2019s Lot<\/strong>) regarding his new score for the vampire film\/<strong>I am Legend<\/strong> riff <strong>Daybreakers<\/strong>, which will run in the January\/February issue of Rue Morgue magazine. (The full Q&amp;A version will run at KQEK.com a bit later.) The soundtrack album runs 64 mins., and is just superb. The huge Wagnerian sound and extensive use of cellos and fascinating brass effects are just some of the gorgeous sounds in this epic orchestral score, which will be released in January by Lionsgate Records.
