For Sony\u2019s PSP3\u2019s Twisted Metal<\/strong>, Michael Wandmacher handles the main scoring chores, writing thick guitar tracks and a few dramatic cues for the first person player movements, and fans of the composer\u2019s edgy sound in Drive Angry<\/a> <\/strong>[M<\/a>] (2011) will find some continuity here, particularly in tracks like \u201cBoom,\u201d with its bluesy groove,
\nor the heavy metal sound in \u201cGentlemen Start Your Weapons.\u201d \u201cCarmageddon\u201d is all drums and multiple guitars flipping across the stereo spectrum, and it\u2019s one of the more solid thematic renditions with plenty of wailing sounds and brief solos.<\/p>\n

With feedback and grungy distortion, the guitar cues tend to convey a sense of player determination, strutting with absurd bravado, evoking the twirling of shiny weapons, and taking periodic pot shots to let aggressors know you mean business. \u201cDeathwish\u201d is devoted to total carnage, with a fast rhythm and pounding bass drum breaking up the fast-thrashing guitar licks.<\/p>\n

A few cues begin with sampled dialogue (\u201cMr. Grimm\u2019s Dark Trip Back\u201d and \u201cThe Madness of Dollface\u201d), and at about the 2\/3 mark the album introduces more electronic sounds, with \u201cDollface\u201d augmented with some orchestral samples and slight sound effects. \u201cReady to Die\u201d blends guitar with retro nineties electronic processing, \u201cBruise Control\u201d is all electrified bass tones and synth drums, and \u201cShoot to Kill\u201d is all trippy beats and grinding reverb. The album closes with the song \u201cGet Twisted,\u201d, and although the album\u2019s design sways too heavily towards electric guitar instrumentation, there are some strong cues which contain a balance of thematic samples and testosterone-driven malice.<\/p>\n
