If I can squeeze them in this week’s schedule, I’ll have a few reviews of his best film work, including the cult favourite, The Swimmer.

Upbeat news: Intrada just announced their new limited release of Bernard Herrmann’s North by Northwest, mastered from better elements than the prior (older) Rhino CD. In September, France’s Music Box Records will release Mama Dracula (1980), one of Roy Budd’s final scores. Not that it’ll happen, but it would be nice if someone (Silva Screen?) would release Budd’s still unheard, locked up score for the classic Phantom of the Opera, which was reportedly slated for release by EMI prior to his death in 1993.

.

.

Mark R.
