There will be film clips and much music, so do come!<\/p>\n<p>As a teaser, I was asked to ring up a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blogto.com\/film\/2013\/10\/this_week_in_home_video_the_hangover_iii_much_ado_about_nothing_all-night_horror_marathon_and_the_sounds_of_giallo_in_toronto\/\" >Top 5 Italian giallo films on home video for BlogTo<\/a>, and the tally includes lurid YouTube trailers.<\/p>\n<p>A wave of Mario Bava films have recently been released on DVD and Blu-ray by KINO in the U.S. and Arrow Video in the U.K., with each label offering their own variety of extras. Come Xmas, I&#8217;ll have a few reviews, as these will be my Xmas present to myself.<\/p>\n<p>In the interim, those interested in reviews of Bava&#8217;s giallo films can check out prior reviews at KQEK.com, many of which were released by Anchor Bay as part of their 2007 boxed sets. Before making <strong>Blood and Black Lace <\/strong>(1965), Bava directed<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kqek.com\/dvd_reviews\/g\/3172_GirlWhoKnewTooMuch.htm\">The Girl Who Knew Too Much<\/a><\/strong> (1963), and later on the rather wacky <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kqek.com\/dvd_reviews\/f\/3072_FiveDolls.htm\">Five Dolls for an August Moon<\/a><\/strong> (1970),\u00a0and the very wet slasher <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kqek.com\/dvd_reviews\/t2u\/3084_TwitchDeathNerve.htm\"><strong>Bay of Blood<\/strong> \/ aka <strong>Twitch of the Death Nerve<\/strong><\/a> (1971).<\/p>\n<p>(<strong>Bay of Blood<\/strong> was screened at the old Bloor Cinema back in 2007 by Rue Morgue magazine, and the rare event of a projected 35mm Bava film was covered in <a href=\"http:\/\/mondomark.blogspot.ca\/2007\/11\/mario-bavas-return-to-big-screen.html\" >one of my early blogs<\/a>, with an interview with RM&#8217;s key members about how they making it all happen.)<\/p>\n<p>The details of this Thursday&#8217;s has admittedly taken over this week, but I&#8217;ll have a few non-giallo reviews up by Wed. evening, after which I&#8217;ll post some Goblin-related material, since the band is playing this Friday at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.songkick.com\/concerts\/17165914-goblin-at-opera-house\" >The Opera House<\/a> (and I&#8217;m so going, especially since an attendee at the New York performance confirmed they not only played some material from <strong>Sleepless<\/strong>, but the train assault that opens the film).<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mark R.
