{"id":7201,"date":"2013-10-28T13:14:02","date_gmt":"2013-10-28T17:14:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mondomark.com\/wordpress\/?p=4473"},"modified":"2013-10-28T13:14:02","modified_gmt":"2013-10-28T17:14:02","slug":"alamo-bay-makes-it-to-blu-ray","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kqek.com\/mobile\/?p=7201","title":{"rendered":"Alamo Bay Makes It to Blu-Ray"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mondomark.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/AlamoBay_poster.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-4474\" title=\"AlamoBay_poster\" src=\"http:\/\/mondomark.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/AlamoBay_poster.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"146\" height=\"218\" \/><\/a>Spent the weekend plotting and editing the teaser trailer  for my experimental film <strong>BSV 1172<\/strong>, a very non-talking head doc on Toronto\u2019s video store <a href=\"http:\/\/baystreetvideo.com\/\" >Bay  Street Video<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Expect the trailer to be live by the end of the week, with some  teasing money shots of the trippy imagery that&#8217;s very much part of the film, and footage of the two vintage tube  cameras used almost exclusively during filming \u2013 the <a href=\"http:\/\/bigheadamusements.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/Canon_VC50.gif\" >Canon VC-50 Pro<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/bigheadamusements.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/IMG_0851_s.jpg\" >Sharp  QC-54<\/a>, both about 28 years old and still working swell.<\/p>\n<p>Just uploaded is a review of Twilight Time\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kqek.com\/dvd_reviews\/a\/4119_AlamoBay.htm\"><strong>Alamo<\/strong><strong> Bay<\/strong><\/a><strong> <\/strong>[<a href=\"http:\/\/kqek.com\/mobile\/?p=7195\">M<\/a>] Blu-ray, which features an  isolated stereo track of Ry Cooder\u2019s score. \u00a0Rather odd this film never made it to DVD, considering Criterion  has issued several of the director\u2019s films on disc, including 1981\u2019s <strong>My Dinner with Andre <\/strong>(which never grew  on me in spite of its strong fan base), <strong>Elevator  to the Gallows <\/strong>(1957), and separate collections of his best-known French  dramas and documentaries.<\/p>\n<p><em>Coming next<\/em>: Part  2 of my podcast interview with Fabio Frizzi, a terrible-fascinating CanCon TV movie from  1976, a review of Grindhouse\u2019s exemplary <strong>Corruption <\/strong>Blu-ray, and another  quartet of soundtrack reviews.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mark R.
