{"id":9825,"date":"2014-10-10T03:30:41","date_gmt":"2014-10-10T07:30:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kqek.com\/mobile\/?p=9825"},"modified":"2014-10-10T03:33:17","modified_gmt":"2014-10-10T07:33:17","slug":"podcast-interview-with-composer-ceiri-torjussen-the-music-of-test-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kqek.com\/mobile\/?p=9825","title":{"rendered":"Podcast Interview with composer Ceiri Torjussen + the music of Test (2014)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just posted on YouTube is my podcast interview with composer-orchestrator Ceiri Torjussen, regarding his recent CD release, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/kqek.com\/mobile\/?p=9368\">Test<\/a><\/strong> (2014), orchestrating for Marco Beltrami (<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/kqek.com\/mobile\/?p=9370\">Snowpiercer<\/a><\/strong>), and his music for the upcoming documentary <strong>Becoming Bulletproof<\/strong> (2014).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/3DZc4BW7MEY\" height=\"315\" width=\"560\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Because the score for <strong>Test <\/strong>was written to evoke the synth sounds of the film\u2019s setting \u2013 1985 \u2013 I\u2019ve designed background visuals for select score extracts using some gear from that era.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve posted a brief<a href=\"http:\/\/bigheadamusements.com\/wordpress\/?p=1479\" target=\"_blank\"> making-of blog<\/a> at Big Head Amusements with stills of the gear, but more details will appear in a follow-up blog at BHA, with both behind-the-scenes video footage and before \/ after comparisons of the feedback effects created using a vintage camera, mixer, and a few \u2018black boxes.\u2019 An upload next week of the three complete background visuals (without superimposed text &amp; publicity art) will be archived on Vimeo and YouTube.<\/p>\n<p><em>Coming shortly:<\/em> reviews of three films produced by CanCon producer Peter R. Simpson \u2013 <strong>Prom Night<\/strong> (1980) and <strong>Curtains<\/strong> (1983) on Blu from Synapse Films + the wholly forgotten drama <strong>Melanie<\/strong> (1982) co-starring Burton Cummings; and a review of Twilight Time\u2019s Blu-ray edition of Fritz Lang\u2019s <strong>Man Hunt<\/strong> (1941).<\/p>\n<p>Cheers,<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mark R.
