The Composers of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children
In the first of several podcasts slated for publication this week, I’ve posted interviews with Mike Higham and Matthew Margeson, the composers of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Tim Burton’s latest film.
I nixed the original plan to edit their comments into a single podcast when it became clear each had distinct takes on the first set of shared questions, so the podcast with Margeson, a composer (Eddie the Eagle, Kingsman, and Kick-Ass 2), orchestrator, and arranger, is available via iTunes, Libsyn, and (shortly) YouTube.
My Q&A with Higham, a composer and prolific music editor (United 93, My Little Eye, Mission: Impossible 5 – Rogue Nation), is also on iTunes (link active shortly), Libsyn, and (shortly) YouTube, and coming soon is a longer discussion on Higham’s work as a music editor.
Also posted is a review of the Miss Peregrine soundtrack CD, to be released by La-La Land Records Oct. 14, 2016.
Coming next: a podcast interview with Varese Sarabande’s A&R rep Cary Mansfield, in which we discuss the label’s return to pressing limited soundtrack LPs on glorious vinyl, such as The Bourne Identity.
