Drums Along the Mohawk on Blu
Just uploaded is a review of Twilight Time’s new Blu-ray edition of Drums Along the Mohawk [M] (1939), nicely updated with a crisp HD transfer from Fox, plus most of the extras that accompanied the 2007 DVD overhaul for the Ford at Fox boxed set, including a great commentary track with Nick Redman and Julie Kirgo, and Redman’s superlative feature-length documentary, Becoming John Ford.
Coming next: reviews of Tinto Brass’ Private and Snack Bar Budapest, because the only way to follow historic film culture is with bum-bums.
