Jeff Toyne’s The Privileged and Rogue: Season 2
Busy composing music for TV series such as DirectTV’s Rogue, Jeff Toyne’s latest project is the suspense film The Privileged, his third score for writer / director Leah Walker. The film score also offered Canadian composer Toyne a plum opportunity to score a film set in his home province of Ontario. Walker’s film recently premiered at the Canadian Film Fest in March of 2014, and following the premiere, Toyne also participated in a panel discussion regarding an alliance between the Canadian Directors Guild and Composers Guild.
My conversation with Toyne, which encompasses the above + some tidbits of the upcoming Season 2 of Rogue (with its music slated for release by EOne), is available at Libsyn (audio only) and YouTube (with video enhancements). I’ve also uploaded a review of The Privileged soundtrack album (Jagged Edge Music).
Coming next: the first five of several advance Hot Docs 2014 film reviews, including The Darkside, The Overnighters, Sacro GRA, Slums, and Songs of Rice.
